Have you ever wanted to know how to avoid those birds nests fishing line tangles? The over spooling, or backlashing problems that bait caster reels are known for? Well in this video I teach you exactly how to set the casting brake on your baitcaster reel to prevent such tangles. How nice is the location in this video? Would you believe I was not even fishing. I had a few casts with my trout rod and that was it. I was enjoying a day of photography and metal detecting with my wife while the kids were at school and of course a little filming. Back to the topic at hand, preventing backlashing on your overhead or baitcaster reel, and one thing that I always recommend to people when starting out with a baitcaster reel is to always start by using cheap monofilament line first until you get the hang of it. Once you have the hang of it, switch to good quality braid or monofilament line, learn how to adjust the casting break and away you go. Here is a link to the rod that I use in this video: http://www.wilsonfishing.com/Products/Rods/Venom-Rods/Cork-Baitcasters And here is a link to the reel (newer model) that I am using: https://www.trellys.com.au/products/shimano-curado #howtocast #baitcaster #fishing
