@grantwaite22724 years agoI don’t get how there is so many of y’all going on here complaining about Bruce selling unfinished projects or that he’s not a real trucker. First of all he does this because he enjoys it and it’s for our entertainment. Last time I checked Bruce buys all these projects with his money not ours. Yeah when you watch his videos you are in a sense paying him but youtube is free entertainment... sounds like a good deal to me. If you don’t think there are people out there that like semis and just the overall appeal of owning and hauling loads for fun then your just naive. You don’t have to be a know it all hard core trucker to want do these things or actually learn them. And remember Bruce went through CDL school so pretty sure he’s qualified enough to be doing anything an OTR trucker does. You never learn anything until you get out there and try it for yourself. So all the haters can go fuck themselves because if you wanna keep watching then you’re only supporting someone who you don’t wanna actually support. ...300

@watchjaredwork14874 years agoI love how you threw in that you’re giving up on the Air Force truck at the last second there lol can’t say I didn’t see that coming. 117
@
@Iamsmallfry4 years agoJust a word to the wise, when hooking a trailer, you should back under it, but stop before it latches, get out and lift the landing gear off the ground so when you do back into the pin, there’s no light between the 5th wheel and the deck plate. Knock on wood, I’ve never high hooked, but I’ve seen it done many times in 24 years out here. My rule for me is alway get out and make sure I don’t see daylight between the two, especially if when backing under, it doesn’t lift the trailer off the ground a tiny bit. Then, even after my tug test, I always get out and visually check that the jaws are locked around the pin, and the release handle is completely retracted. It doesn’t hurt to over inspect, but that one time you don’t might be the time you lose your trailer. ...26

@charlesnogosek68624 years agoBruce has the go to energy and desire to bring old diesels back to life!!!! I’d like to see him preserve a 379 Pete extended hood with a 63” flat top. Long wheel base ,straight pipes & lights are old school and awesome. ...1

@dackerson54 years agoNice buy Bruce! Good luck with it. I'm sure you will fix it right and make it shiny and new. Anything that requires paint, coat it POR-15 and I use ZEP truck and trailer wash along with their Aluminum Brightener. The truck and trailer soap works awesome ...
@
@dwightcorbett88894 years agoThat trailer should suit you well once you find the air leaks, get them fixed and replace any worn parts, such as the air bags. I really like this trailer. Should last for many years if properly maintained and not neglected or abused. ...
@
@christophers.40074 years agoselling the air force truck...what a shock. TO NO ONE. 64
@
@ronclifford33364 years agoId say that line being loose is why you dont have air to the tanks? Once you get air back there, if the bags still dont air up, check the leveler valve. The rod may be off or the valve may be bad? 20
@
@JohnVH-diy4 years agoLove this channel. I buy and sell trucks, trailers, tractors, boats and anything else I can get my hands on cheap. You learn a lot fixing up old stuff. Hey Bruce, if you’re tired of rust come to Arizona and buy stuff. I can sand down some steel and leave it out for a few years and there’s only slight surface rust. ...
@
@jackhembree25034 years agoSince it's aluminum be sure and check for broke welds. On many of these to trailers when you apply the parking brake the air bags deflate to make loading and unloading easier. Be very careful with the alumibrite. 10
@
@johndurden97374 years agoOn the reitnour steps I've pulled there is a airbag dump valve located near the oval marker light on the driver side. For completely dumping bags to load/unload. Who knows maybe it's that simple for ya. 21
@
@GoodOlBoy19764 years agoThat's a fancy trailer you got. I had to pull a old school flat bed hauling steel rebar to construction sites. It did not have all that fancy stuff lol. Man I miss trucking so much.
@
@richardhayes7224 years agoIf Bruce buys the equipment. Bruce can do with it whatever he wants. He doesn't have to justify his decisions to watchers. When it comes to big equipment you have to find what fits your needs, if you have to go through some incarnations to find the right combo, so be it. Haters always going to hate. ...1
@
@stephenbatson39164 years agoI'm not much into cab overs but I love this truck, if you put some big fuel tanks on there to fill in that frame it would look even better.
@
@johnditch63574 years agoyes axles on box trailers also slide very handy when switching from OTR to in town doing deliveries, especially where in town state routes are two lane in a compact cute lil town. that's why interstates by pass them.
@
@DazC24 years agoCame for the International cab over, stayed for the Air Force truck, losing interest because neither have been or will be finished. 26
@
@radarmike67134 years agoThose shorter ramps should mount to the step deck so you can drive stuff up on top 8
@
@watchjaredwork14874 years agoWhat you’re seeing all over that trailer is galvanic corrosion. Happens when two different metals are touching each other and they come into contact with an electrolyte, I.E. salt water. 23
@
@DLCFarms4 years agoAt the red air line is running into a governor/safety block. Probably got the name wrong but anyways it will usually pressurize the tank to 90psi before that valve opens and sends the air to the bags, maybe that's also another thing you should change while your at it. I've had to change two on our grain trailers. ...
@
@stephenbrown5714 years agoThese trailers the leveling valve has. A tendency to flip in the wrong direction when sliding the rear axle. The controls for that are in a box on left side. Both switches pointing up are rear axle brake lock. And axle pin unlocked. ...1
@
@demetresrobinson26944 years agoIt's a rear sliding axle trailer. It's a must in Florida, California and a few of the new England states like Connecticut. Get in touch with the Florida dmv and get yourself a annual bridge law permit if you plan on running that trailer in the 10'2" spread position. Also anytime you load anything heavy on or off the rear of the trailer, put it in the spread position, and put blocks under bumper on the main beams. ...19

It's not like he needs a half dozen trucks . So I would say he needs to sell to get something different to try and provide the content you all have been asking for . Don't complain. He is just trying to provide content we are asking for . So thanks Bruce for keeping it fresh ✌🏼😎🇺🇸 ...1

@
@patreed79664 years agoFirst check and make sure that the valves on the side of the trailer are in the ride position not in the dump position then check your air ride leveling valve it could have gone bad and the reason for the spread is if you spread it out you can put 40,000 on the trailer as long as you don't go over 80,000 gross but in the State of Florida if you have the axle spread you will need a Kingpin permit regardless of your weight and there should be some J hook plates with that trailer they hook in the grooves on the deck it would be a good idea to use those instead of your stake pockets and rub rail it's a rittenour they will break if you're going to use those you need a spool gun for your welder be careful at truck stops we used to have a fleet of those and I rookies would tear the back bumper off of all of them you back over a curb to get in a spot the air bleeds off and the rookies didn't let the trailer rise up before they pulled out and they would rip the ass out of the trailer ...1
@
@McClellan714 years agoThat's a sweet trailer Bruce. Very versatile and all the bells and whistles. Nice score.
@
@colindevine32604 years agoI’ve paid the fine for having that back axle slid back in FL. You’ll have to have an oversize permit to have that axle back because of bridge law in FL. Just a heads up. Nice trailer btw. 1
@
@calvinh.88824 years agoSweet! Once you get it fixed you can run it to the truck wash in Wildwood every few days for a couple of weeks and have them acid wash it. It will slowly remove all that oxidation. The bad thing about that would be if the acid wash gets on the rims and toolboxes after they're polished, it will mess them up by making them look white. Sweet trailer, can't wait to see it once it's finished getting cleaned and polished. Ps. Get some locks for those ramps so that they don't get stolen. ...10

@
@bgd734 years agonice combo of aluminum and steel. the wood is very good for steel, things that slide.
@
@azeilm4 years agoHelpful tip. That is not a California spread. That trailer is only legal in California with the axles in the closed tandem position. With the axles opened up in the spread which allows 40,000 pounds on the axle group instead of 34,000 pounds when closed. California has a 40ft kingpin law so for the spread to be a California spread the rear axle would be fixed like eight feet from back with the front axle then being 10ft in front of rear axle. Also don't chain to the stack pockets on a Reitnouer you will crush them a they aren't welded. Chain around the double spools. ...1

@
@squidkid24 years agoFinally a real trailer! I would check out those rusted air tanks before i put any serious air pressure in them. They look like candidates for a nasty explosion with shrapnel. If you're not going to replace them I wouldn't be any where near them the first time you put pressure to them just in case they let go. You might take them to a place that tests welding tanks and see what they say. And if one of them blew at highway speed with a full load I wouldn't want to think what would happen if the air bags suddenly dropped pressure and the trailer brakes went full lock ouch!! Wouldn't want to failure test those on the interstate at speed! ...

@treya24034 years agoThat one valve on the tank is a TEV valve there should be two 90lb valves that run off each side of tank also, I would check those first because with water in the lines they become faulty I work on these everyday theres to much to list to put on here lol but hey if you need any advice we can fix it. @Daves_adventures43154 years agoIf you’re going to spread them axels you need to put a switch on your dash to dump air in one of the axels so when you turn it’ll save your tires.
