@wingman-197710 months ago Also, if you live near a Microcenter, you can get the powercoler version of the 7900XT Hellhound overclocked triple fan) for $699 and if you have the microcenter credit card, it drops to $664). The reference version is $749 and with the MC CC, it drops down to $712. ... 59

@paulhartt12539 months ago Any chance you could operate in GBP and make your value comparisons based on what is available to people in the UK and on the basis of how the various components are priced in the UK. It'd be nice if at least one UK content creator was producing comparisons that were meaningful to UK buyers ... 2

@someonesomewheresometime389710 months ago i would almost think the 4090 is overkill even at 4k. i would consider the 4090 almost an 8k card more than a 4k card. and for 4k i would agree the amd rx 7900 xt and xtx cards are better options. 8

@powerface7110 months ago I am still using the XTX Raedon 580 HD Card LMAO! I am building my new rig around the RX 7900 XTX and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU! 9

@B16B0SS8 months ago I would honestly consider a 4080 over a 7900 XTX has the raster perf is more or less equal, but the 4080 has a chance with RT games and uses quite a bit less energy. There TDP's are similar but 4080 appears to only take what it needs while 7900 xtx just sucks as much juice as it can. ... 7

@Josh-kuun8 months ago I've been loyal to Nvidia cards since my first build with the 1050ti at the time of it's release. Tho ngl, I'm starting to think I'm better off with the recent AMD releases for my uprade from my 4 year old 1660 super with how cost efficient they are. My only concerns now would be AMD's themals under load but I guess it's nothing that a good case and cooling system can't fix. ... 8

@YourFavoriteBodyGuard10 months ago 6950xt FTW!!!! tbh i dont really see myself getting the newer amd 7000 series card when my 6950xt handles everything i can throw at it even in 4k ive had no issues maybe the 8000 series card i will grab 3

@thisguy29736 months ago I just returned a 7900 XTX. That chipset has some series issues, and this is coming from someone who’s a pro-AMD user. This is the first card I’ve had significant driver issues with since the 570/580. 1

@marcomarinanza22888 months ago yeah but the only problem is that here, in Europe, the rx 6950 xt is 900/1000 euros, the rx 7900 xt is 1000/1100, AND the RTX 4070 is 700 euros
  • @
@JNZKU10 months ago kind of regret getting 4070 since i could have gotten 6950 xt for the same price, but i guess 4070 saves on power bills at least and is still a really good card for me. 9

@LostTemplate5 months ago amd drivers have so many issues from past experience i had to switch to a 4060ti and an i-7 13700kf and it runs wonderfully and does everything i need. (i play 1080p and mostly competetive gaming at all low settings. cyberpunk and starfield occasionally and both run phenomenally because of the dlss quality blowing amd out of the water. and the prices for those or even a 4060 vs a 3070 is so much better. ... 1

@doomsday81169 months ago I would really go between 4070ti and 4080 here since 4090 is an overkill plus the price tag. The ray tracing is really the issue on AMD cards so it makes no sense for me to get AMD despite its reasonable price tag. 1

@daniellew227110 months ago At my area, 6950xt cost 50% more, RX6800 cost 20% more, compare to RTX4070. By lower power, availability, and reliability, RTX4070 is not that bad of an option to go for 1440P + minor 4K gaming. 5

@AvroBellow10 months ago I just picked up an RX 6600 for $300CAD with tax. I don't actually need it (I have both an RX 6800 XT and an RX 5700 XT) but the card came bundled with a free copy of Starfield. Since I was going to get Starfield anyway and the game costs about $100CAD, I just looked at the cheapest piece of AMD hardware that included it because that meant that I would get, proportionately, the largest discount from the bundle. That was the ASRock RX 6600.
I could turn around and sell it for $250 in September which means that someone will get a brand-new card for $50 off and I'll have spent only $50 to get my copy of Starfield. That's a win-win if you ask me. I might also decide to gift it to a friend who is stuck with a GTX 1660 Super because that'll be a ~33% uplift for him in both performance and VRAM.
