Exploring an ABANDONED CASTLE

Urban Exploration/Urbexing - We explore a forgotten Castle in the woods. This 25-room medieval Scottish-style castle embellished with arched windows and a spiral iron staircase located in Westchester, NY was completed in 1927. The owner of this outstanding property was the founder of an American lifestyle clothing brand. This estate sat within a 300 acre picturesque location including a pool, fishing pond and horse trails. After his death in 1937, the family then decided to sell the property to a company that conducted research on paint. Then it was abandoned through out the 1950s. Many vandals set fires and ravaged the place. In 1967 it was bought once again for $15,000 by the founder of the local scientific company, to which it was inhabited through the 1980s. In 2001, another couple paid $1.5 million in an attempt to create a retreat but failed. Finally in 2011 current owners paid $3.75 million on the estate with the intent of restoration but didn’t have enough money to do so.
