@elorauniverse9 months agoYummm in our household we would usually cook them a little like sautéing onions, adding the sardines then once warmed we add chopped petchay (very similar to bok choy) and the residual heat would wilt them perfectly 3

You can squeeze some Lemon or calamansi and add a dash of soy sauce, plus pepper. This is to omit the fishy taste from the sardines. 😊 Also, try the Del Monte Rosebowl Sardines, it’s the best! 💯 ...4

You should try making “tortang sardinas” IDK what its called haha So basically, you separate the fish from the sauce, break the sardines into small pieces, beat 2 eggs and add it in, season it with just a little bit of salt and pepper. And then you fry it. I usually have it with rice, and dont forget to eat it with the sauce (i always add 1 calamansi to the sauce 😍) huhu this is too long and my mouth is watering juts typing it. @Iflie9 months agoI do mackerel, drain the oil, add pepper and salt and some flour and roast it in the oven a bit. Then eat it with a lot of rice and tomatoes and sambal. A little goes a long way.

@miso40309 months agoJeanelle, please try stir frying your sardine with onions (not diced so you can feel the crunch) and add calamansi/lemon(remove the seeds bcs it makes it bitter). That's how we do it in the PH and it really elevates the canned sardines. ...

@sophiaroseoneill9 months agoI just had sardines with rice and seaweed and wrap it like a tube burrito. I only will eat the boneless and skinless sardines. I usually buy them from Costco. They are also usually on sale for 10$ for a 6 pack there!

@alyahamzah19529 months agoThis is also what I do if my husband is away. Try this to bring your canned sardines to the next level : Dice a few shallots, some garlic and ginger. Boil some dried chillies and make into a paste. Stir fry the first three till fragrant then add the chilli paste. Next add in the fish. Add some water and let the fish boil for a bit Later add the sauce from the sardine can. Season w tamarind paste, salt and sugar. Done ...

@Jo_W879 months agoOh this is one of my go to meals as well! I experimented some as a teen and would get a thick slice of toast with a bit of garlic butter on, then put the tomato sardines or sometimes pilchards on top. So yummy!
