EXT. CHRISTIAN CAMP - FOREST MOUNTAINS
The sign out front says 'CAMP NEW GRACE' and then 'Pray the Gay Away' under that. Butters' Dad drives the car up to the camp as Butters looks around.
Back to the car, a COUNSELOR opens the door for Butters and he steps out, still in a shirt and tie and carrying a rolled up sleeping bag.
RANDOM COUNSELOR
Everyone, say hello to our new camper, BUTTERS.
REVERSE to a large gathering of campers, looking nervous.
CAMPERS
Hello/Hello Butters/HI/Praise Jesus/etc.
Cut to another shot where Butters' dad steps up to the HEAD COUNSELOR.
BUTTERS' DAD
Thank you so much for taking him in.
HEAD COUNSELOR
Don't worry. Your son just needs to learn that he can be straight if he chooses to be.
INT. CAMP - HALLWAY -- DAY
Butters is walking down a hallway with one of the counselors. Butters still has a smile on his face and his sleeping bag under his arm. As they walk, a few campers walk around in the background and others pass through frame.
COUNSELOR
Do you know why you're here at camp, Butters?
BUTTERS
Because I'm bi-curious?
COUNSELOR
That's right. Like all the campers here you're confused, and you don't think there's a way out. But even though SOME people would have you believe that you can't control how you feel, the truth is that with the power of Jesus Christ you CAN be normal.
They keep walking.
COUNSELOR
Now just to make sure you don't slip up while in camp, we assign every camper an accountabilibuddy. Let's meet Ryan, YOUR accountabilibuddy.
They near a closed door.
COUNSELOR
Ryan thought HE could never change, But now he's learning that with the power of Christ and prayer he can have a whole new life!
The counselor opens the door, revealing that the kid has hung himself. (We can't see his face)
REVERSE - to a shot behind the body with Butters and the counselor in the background, staring.
Then back to the hallway- The counselor closes the door and just keeps walking.
COUNSELOR
Over this way we have the cafeteria. All the meals are served there...
They walk up to another boy,
COUNSELOR
Bradly, how about you be Butters' accountabilibuddy.
BRADLY
(Biting his nails)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand that he may lift you up. PETER 5:6
COUNSELOR
Butters here is new to camp. He's chosen to rid himself of his affliction and forge a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
BUTTERS
I'm Bi-Curious!
BRADLY
(biting his nails)
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. Leviticus 18:22.
COUNSELOR
That's right, Bradly! I think we're well on our way to being healed.
He leans over to another counselor.
COUNSELOR
We've got another one, room 22.
COUNSELOR 2
Ooh darn it.
