@deegeetee3 years ago I'm afraid there's a bit of cheating going on here, this is NOT a Soda & Mentos fountain. Soda & Mentos reactions are a physical reaction of the carbon dioxide bubbles with the surface of the Mentos, which has bumps & pits on it, when seen close up. This helps the bonds between the carbon dioxide gas & water, that's in the soda, to break, causing the eruption, which does not produce heat. What you see here is a chemical reaction, probably of Hydrogen Peroxide and something like Potassium Iodide, which gives off an exothermic reaction, in other words it produces heat (see the steam in the footage). If you notice, the liquid he puts into the barrel (which probably contains hydrogen peroxide & not soda) to cause the reaction, is yellow/amber coloured (like potassium iodide in solution) and much less in volume than that he made up from the Mentos, Baking Soda & water. ... 4
