The Blossoms are one of my favourite sixties girl groups. The lead singer was Darlene Love, who was also leas for "The Crystals" on a couple of their recordings, when they were away touring, but didn't appear live with those girls. There's Phil Spector for you. This 1969 jukebox has been in private hands for more than half its life including over ten in mine. Consequently, it is in excellent condition for something now over 50 years old. It was looking a bit tired when I bought it. I re-made the graphic using overlaid coloured acetates and I managed to buy a "new old stock" record card insert. That "round thing." You can take it out and replace it with a record sleeve. This was done by operators occasionally, to draw attention to an added new record. The chrome has no visible pitting. It needed a good "lube job" and developed a small fault with the amplifier after a year, which I had fixed. There are a couple of scratches on the dome glass, probably made in its commercial life. There's a bit of discolouration behind the selection buttons due to wear and the stainless steel front edge above the graphic has a lot of marks on it. I could buff those out, but in my opinion its small faults just add to its character. This jukebox, has appropriately, selections from the sixties, including mostly Motown and those of a similar genre. Plus one contemporary single which fits the era. It's probably got a disproportionate number of sixties "girl groups" but it's my choices. I do ring the changes occasionally, I've around another fifty records, some more well known than a few of the current selection. I like the title cards to be well presented, so many jukeboxes I've seen on the internet have hand-written ones. It's easy enough to get a good presentation using the free facilities available on the internet if you know where to look . Type 'em up and download 'em on a pdf. and print them off. I tell the kids of visitors who see it who've never even seen a 45, it's a, "300lb i-Pod." They understand that. I recorded this on a little Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera which will record short videos with sound, the reproduction is good on this video, but nothing like "the real thing," from its two 8" eliptical and two 12" bass speakers.
