Try this super easy breakfast recipe - Crispy Suji Balls. It takes very little oil to make it and they are soft from inside and crisp from outside.
Ingredients
For Potato Masala
Potatoes- 4 (Boiled & grated)
Oil- 2 tbsp
Hing- 1/4 tsp
Coriander seeds- 1 tbsp
Fennel - 1 tsp
Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder- 1 tsp
Chaat masala- 1 tsp
Garam masala- 1/2 TSP
Mint powder- 1/2 tsp
Besan- 1 tbsp
Salt- to taste
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Kasuri Methi- 1 tbsp
For Rava Dough
Water- 1.5 cups
Carom seeds- 1/2 tsp
Salt- to taste
Rava (barik suji) - 1 cup
Ghee- 1 tbsp
Oil- For frying
Method-
1. Boil 4 medium size potatoes until soft and then grate them.
2. For Aloo Masala, roast all the above mentioned ingredients in a pan for 1 minute and then add gram flour and cook for a minute so that the rawness of gram flour goes away. Add potatoes, salt, sugar, kasoori methi and mix everything well.
4. Take a spoonful of potato masala and make it round with the help of hands. Similarly make the rest.
5. For Suji Dough, Add salt and carom seeds to the water, mix and let it become lukewarm, put rava little by little in the lukewarm water and mix.
6. Cook the rava on medium heat till it becomes thick, then add a spoon of ghee to it and cook it for a minute.
7. Take out the dough in a plate, apply oil on the hands and knead for 30 seconds and make a log out of it.
8. Take a portion of dough, thin it with the help of thumb and finger, leave the middle part thick
9. Keep the dough in between the thumb and finger and and place the potato ball in the center.
Collect the dough from the edges and make it round. Similarly make semolina balls of all the dough.
10. Cook on medium heat till light golden.
11. Serve hot with green chutney & Ketchup.
